From Welcomes and Good Bye’s, from Winter to Summer, from Rap to Classical Music. I consider NYC the best city in the world and I could sing about it all day. Alicia Keys - New York Empire state of mind part 2 lyrics
Season 14 of The Voice is here, and it’s going to be a season filled with energy and tough competition — thanks to the addition of Kelly Clarkson, who joins returning judges Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys (see post). Each of them has won at least one season, and they aren’t letting Clarkson forget it. She’s taking the ribbing in stride, though. She has a trick up her sleeve: winning Season 1 of American Idol. Clarkson knows what it’s like to be a contestant.
The judges’ chairs have been completely redesigned to include three block buttons, in addition to the red button that turns the chair around. The block feature will allow a judge to block another judge from picking a contestant for their team during the Blind Auditions. This move can only be made once by each judge during this round.
Keys said she was "really, really frustrated" that her son was forced to feel that way, but she also asked her followers to weigh in with their own thoughts. Many were quick to praise her parenting skills.
Fitzgerald’s childhood wasn’t an easy one. Her stepfather was reportedly abusive to her, and that abuse continued following the death of Fitzgerald’s mother in 1932. Eventually, to escape the violence, she moved to Harlem to live with her aunt. While she had been a great student when she was younger, it was following that move that her dedication to education faltered. Her grades dropped and she often skipped school. But she found other ways to fill her days, not all of them legal: According to The New York Times, she worked for a mafia numbers runner and served as a police lookout at a local brothel. Her illicit activities eventually landed her in an orphanage, followed by a state reformatory.

As her IMDb profile attests, Fitzgerald contributed to a number of films and television series over the years, and not just to the soundtracks. She also worked as an actress on a handful of occasions (often an actress who sings), beginning with 1942’s Ride ‘Em Cowboy, a comedy-western starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello.
Project FIND's buildings are not HUD 202s, and were not technically eligible for the program. But they might have gotten through anyway, if given the chance.
I added here the lyrics and the video below. Give it a go. I would say, you won’t be able to keep still.
Here’s the interesting part (useful content): She entered the competition as a dancer. But when she saw that she had some stiff competition in that department, she opted to sing instead. It was the first big step toward a career in music.
It worked, and allowed Keys, the daughter of a single mother, to take trains in the city to school and to play music unbothered while her mother worked long hours. It’s just one of the many telling stories Grammy-winning superstar shares in “More Myself: A Journey,” her new book out Tuesday.

Keys was born Alicia Augello Cook on January 25, 1981, in the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan, in New York City. She is the only child of Teresa Augello, a paralegal and part-time actress, and Craig Cook, a flight attendant. Keys' father is African American; Keys has expressed that she was comfortable with her biracial heritage because she felt she was able to "relate to different cultures". Her parents separated when she was two and she was subsequently raised by her mother during her formative years in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. In 1985, Keys made an appearance on The Cosby Show at the age of four, where she and a group of girls played the parts of Rudy Huxtable's sleepover guests in the episode "Slumber Party". Throughout her childhood, Keys was sent to music and dance classes by her mother. She began playing the piano when she was seven and learned classical music of composers such as Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin. Keys enrolled in the Professional Performing Arts School at the age of 12, where she majored in choir and began writing songs at the age of 14. She graduated in four years as valedictorian at the age of 16.
